Former cricketer Shahid Afridi expressed strong support for Pakistan’s armed forces, stating that the entire nation stands shoulder-to-shoulder with its military. He made these remarks while addressing a peaceful rally in Karachi held to offer gratitude to Allah Almighty for Pakistan’s victory against India.
Afridi emphasized that the gathering was not a celebration of war but a peaceful expression of national unity and solidarity. “Pakistan remains committed to peace,” he said, adding that New Delhi’s aggressive posture had backfired and revealed the consequences of provoking Pakistan.
He criticized the Indian media for spreading misinformation and inciting nationalism based on falsehoods. Afridi also condemned Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “war hysteria,” which he said had left India diplomatically isolated.
Highlighting civilian suffering, Afridi alleged that Indian forces had targeted non-combatants, including children and places of worship within Pakistan’s borders. He reminded the audience that Pakistan has long been a frontline state in the fight against terrorism, having sacrificed hundreds of lives to combat extremism.
Afridi lauded the professionalism and resilience of the Pakistan Armed Forces, particularly their performance in the Bunyan-un-Marsoos Operation, which he said demonstrated their capability and resolve.
