Under the banner of Operation Bunyun Marsoos (Iron Wall), Pakistan has reportedly conducted a large-scale and successful cyber offensive, targeting several prominent Indian digital infrastructures.
According to security sources, the official website of India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was among the primary targets. Additional affected platforms include the Crime Research Investigation Agency, Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL), Bharat Earth Movers Limited, and the All India Naval Technical Supervisory Staff Association.
The attack allegedly resulted in the erasure of large volumes of data, alongside the leakage of sensitive material from major institutions such as Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, the Border Security Force, and the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).
Reports further indicate that the breach extended to the internal databases of the Indian Air Force and the Maharashtra Election Commission. In a striking demonstration of reach, the hackers also seized control of more than 2,500 surveillance cameras across the country.
