Erdogan urges immediate de-escalation between Pakistan and India following pahalgam attack.


Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday called for the immediate de-escalation of tensions between Pakistan and India following the attack in Pahalgam.

“We urge for the tensions between Pakistan and India to be reduced swiftly, before they escalate into a more serious conflict,” Erdogan said after a Cabinet meeting in the capital, Ankara.

He further emphasized Türkiye’s consistent stance, saying, “At every opportunity, Türkiye underlines that we do not wish for new conflicts to arise, whether in our region or beyond.”

Additionally, Erdogan offered his condolences to the Iranian people over the tragic explosion at a port near the city of Bandar Abbas.
