In a significant move to enhance women’s safety, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has deployed lady police squads across various cities in the province. The initiative aims to ensure a secure environment for women and families shopping for Eid.
In Okara, a dedicated bicycle squad comprising 50 female officers has been stationed. Additionally, motorcycle squads and foot patrols of female officers are actively monitoring marketplaces. The primary focus of these squads is to prevent harassment, snatching, and other crimes. Patrols have already commenced in key areas, including Okara, Renala, and Depalpur.
Similarly, Bhakkar has also witnessed the proactive presence of lady police officers at shopping centers, providing women shoppers with a safer and more comfortable experience.
The initiative reflects the Punjab government’s commitment to promoting public safety, particularly during the festive Eid season.
