FATA Region’s Asif Afridi has been sidelined from the National T20 Cup following an injury sustained during a training session at Gaddafi Stadium.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that the cricketer suffered a blow to his right eye from a ball during practice. Medical examinations revealed a fracture near his eye socket, preventing his participation in the ongoing tournament.
Sources indicate that Afridi, who is associated with Lahore Qalandars, may also miss the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) due to the severity of the injury. In a show of support, Lahore Qalandars COO Sameen Rana and team star Fakhar Zaman visited Afridi to check on his recovery progress.
The cricketing fraternity has expressed its well wishes for Afridi’s speedy recovery.
