Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has issued a serious warning regarding the resurgence of terrorism in Pakistan. He stated that this menace will not remain confined to KP but is likely to spread across the entire country.
Terrorism Will Not Be Limited to KP
Speaking to the media, Ali Amin Gandapur expressed strong concerns over the increasing terrorist activities, particularly highlighting the recent attack in Kurram. He assured that the perpetrators will not be spared and that the provincial government is working tirelessly to restore peace and order in the region.
He further stressed that addressing the security crisis requires a unified approach and that the provincial government is doing its part to combat terrorism and lawlessness.
Negotiations with Afghanistan: The Only Solution?
One of the key points made by the KP Chief Minister was the need for direct talks with Afghanistan. He revealed that Terms of Reference (TORs) have already been drafted for negotiations, as he believes that terrorism cannot be stopped without engaging in diplomatic discussions with the Afghan government.
This statement reflects a growing concern over border security issues, as many militant groups operate across the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, making it a critical factor in Pakistan’s counter-terrorism efforts.
Criticism of the Federal Government
Ali Amin Gandapur also took the opportunity to criticize the federal government, accusing it of neglecting national security while focusing on political cases. He said that instead of formulating policies to combat terrorism, the federal leadership is more concerned with taking political revenge against PTI.
He pointed out that while KP is struggling financially, the federal government has failed to allocate necessary funds to the province. According to him, despite the worsening law and order situation, the federal leadership has shown little concern over the rise of militancy.
Furthermore, he criticized the government’s economic performance, saying, “Loans are being taken on loans, but what have they done for the country?”
Punjab Government’s Performance Under Fire
Ali Amin Gandapur did not hold back in his criticism of the Punjab government, claiming that it is more focused on advertisements rather than actual governance. He mocked the provincial leadership, saying that if he started making promotional videos like Punjab officials, what would that prove about his performance?
His remarks suggest a growing political rivalry between the provinces, highlighting how governance styles differ across the country.
Arbab Niaz Stadium Renaming & Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Super League
Discussing a major sports development, the KP Chief Minister revealed that there was a public demand to rename the Arbab Niaz Stadium after the founder of PTI. However, he mentioned that the party leadership was misinformed about the stadium’s renaming issue.
He also announced the launch of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Super League (KPSL), a regional cricket league aimed at promoting sports talent in the province. This move is expected to boost youth engagement in sports and provide opportunities for emerging cricketers.
Ali Amin Gandapur’s statements highlight several critical issues currently facing Pakistan, including rising terrorism, strained federal-provincial relations, economic instability, and security concerns with Afghanistan.
His strong stance on negotiations with Afghanistan, criticism of the federal government, and commitment to maintaining peace in KP reflect the challenges ahead for the province.
As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen how the federal and provincial governments will tackle the growing security concerns and whether dialogue with Afghanistan will yield any tangible solutions to curbing terrorism in Pakistan.
