Punjab launches “Maryam Nawaz community health services” to strengthen healthcare.

The Punjab government has announced the launch of Maryam Nawaz Community Health Services, a major initiative aimed at enhancing healthcare delivery across the province. The program will focus on 19 key healthcare tasks, ensuring a structured approach to public health management.

As part of this initiative, 20,000 additional health inspectors will be hired through outsourcing, while the existing Lady Health Workers Program will be integrated, bringing 39,000 lady health workers under the new system. This will create a total workforce of over 60,000 healthcare professionals.

The program will be responsible for tasks such as polio and other vaccination drives, along with maintaining an authentic patient record system to improve healthcare monitoring and accessibility.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed authorities to develop a comprehensive plan and take immediate steps to make the program fully operational.
