Israel strikes hezbollah targets amid ceasefire tensions.

The Israeli military announced on Friday that it had carried out overnight airstrikes on multiple Hezbollah targets in the Bekaa Valley and along the Syrian-Lebanese border.

According to the army, the strikes targeted an underground weapons development facility and a site linked to arms smuggling into Lebanon.

A day earlier, Israel intercepted a Hezbollah surveillance drone, calling it a violation of the ceasefire agreement reached in late November 2023. The US confirmed that the ceasefire, which includes a 60-day Israeli troop withdrawal period, will remain in effect until February 18, extending the original January 26 deadline.

Despite the extension, Israel has conducted multiple strikes on Lebanese territory, resulting in over 100 casualties. In the latest attack, a drone strike in the southern Lebanese town of Majdal Selm injured at least five people.
