Pakistani actor Mansha Pasha recently addressed negative comments on her choice of attire at Yashma Gill’s sister’s wedding, calling out critics for their judgmental remarks.
After facing backlash on social media for her outfits, a user commented on her picture, questioning why she dressed “immodestly” and accused her of “blindly following India.” Mansha clapped back, saying, “Why is it necessary to drag India into everything? If you don’t like the dress, that’s fine, but don’t make it seem like you’re suffering from an inferiority complex.”
Addressing Cultural Hypocrisy
Taking to Instagram, Mansha further elaborated on the issue. She criticized the double standards in society, stating, “Selective whitening of history and culture while shaming today’s women is beyond comprehension.”
She supported her point by sharing screenshots from old Pakistani films where actresses wore sleeveless dresses, semi-traditional outfits, or smoked in tea houses. Mansha highlighted that such styles have been part of Pakistan’s cultural history and are not new.
A Call Against Shaming
The actor emphasized that women today should not be shamed for their clothing choices, as they are influenced by cultural precedents set by past actresses. Mansha’s bold response resonated with many, sparking conversations about the need to respect personal choices and avoid unnecessary judgment.
