Judicial appointments in high courts move forward with rule approval.

The process of appointing judges in high courts took a significant step forward as a committee, chaired by Supreme Court Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail, approved the appointment rules and forwarded them to the Judicial Commission for final approval.

The 32-member Judicial Commission is scheduled to meet on December 21 to make its final decision on the matter. This meeting is expected to provide the necessary nod for the new rules, streamlining the process of judicial appointments in high courts.
