PML-N leader and Prime Minister’s Advisor, Rana Sanaullah, has lashed out at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), accusing the party of spreading propaganda against the state and misguiding the people, leading them into protests. Speaking on Geo News’ Shahzeb Khanzada Show, Sanaullah highlighted the violence and damage caused during PTI-led protests, asserting that those responsible should be held accountable for the harm inflicted on law enforcement officers and society at large.
Rana Sanaullah’s Criticism of PTI
During his appearance on the show, Rana Sanaullah emphasized that PTI has a history of instigating unrest through propaganda, particularly against the state’s interests. According to Sanaullah, PTI’s leadership led innocent people into protests, using misleading narratives that provoked violence. He also accused PTI of exploiting ethnic divisions by spreading propaganda targeting Pakhtuns, which exacerbated tensions in the country.
“PTI has always done propaganda against the state. They have misled the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, bringing armed groups from the region to participate in protests. They are directly responsible for the chaos that unfolded,” Sanaullah stated.
He further elaborated on the consequences of PTI’s actions, noting that around 250 law enforcement officers were injured during the violent protests. He condemned the party for its role in instigating violence and stressed that those who harmed the society should be held accountable.
The Violence and Damage During PTI Protests
Sanaullah took aim at the lack of preparation and organization from PTI regarding the protest. He mentioned that the party had no clear arrangements in place, which made it difficult to control the situation once the protest escalated.
- Law Enforcement Casualties: According to reports, around 250 law enforcement officers were injured, many of them suffering from injuries inflicted by direct shots fired by PTI protesters.
- Public Disorder: The violence caused significant disruptions in public order, affecting citizens and businesses alike.
Sanaullah stated, “PTI brought armed individuals to disrupt the peace. Direct shots were fired at law enforcement officers, which is utterly condemnable. The violence that ensued is something the country cannot tolerate.”
PTI’s Lack of Accountability
One of the key points raised by Sanaullah was PTI’s refusal to be accountable for the violence and destruction caused during the protests. He pointed out that PTI members failed to make any efforts to manage the situation and prevent further violence.
“Their protest was chaotic, with no arrangements or plans in place. PTI was unable to stop the violence, and it was left to law enforcement to manage the crisis,” Sanaullah remarked.
The Prime Minister had extended an offer to PTI for dialogue, hoping to resolve the issues peacefully. However, PTI refused the invitation, leaving the government frustrated and unwilling to engage further. Sanaullah expressed doubts about PTI’s ability to mobilize for protests in the near future, stating that the party may no longer be in a position to organize large-scale protests after the recent events.
PTI’s Future in Politics
Rana Sanaullah also discussed the future of PTI in Pakistani politics, suggesting that the party’s capacity to call for further protests may be severely limited. He pointed out that the recent violence and disorganization had severely damaged PTI’s political standing.
“After what happened during this protest, PTI will not be able to call for another protest anytime soon. They might never be able to do so again, as their credibility has been damaged,” Sanaullah predicted.
The refusal of PTI to engage in dialogue with the Prime Minister also indicates that the party may be struggling with internal divisions and a lack of a coherent strategy to move forward. Sanaullah suggested that PTI’s inability to take responsibility for their actions would lead to further isolation from both the public and political institutions.
The Need for Accountability and Responsibility
Throughout the interview, Rana Sanaullah emphasized the importance of accountability in politics, stressing that political leaders and parties must be held responsible for their actions. He called for a thorough investigation into the violence that occurred during the PTI-led protests and urged that all those responsible be brought to justice.
We cannot let those who have harmed the society, the law enforcement, and the people go unpunished. Accountability is crucial for maintaining peace and order in this country,
Rana Sanaullah’s remarks on PTI’s role in the recent protests highlight the need for political responsibility and accountability. With the growing tension between the government and PTI, it remains to be seen how the political landscape will evolve in the coming months. Sanaullah’s criticism of PTI’s actions and the failure to engage in meaningful dialogue suggests a prolonged period of instability in the country’s political sphere. However, as he pointed out, PTI may no longer have the influence it once held, especially after the chaos caused during the recent protests.
