On the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, Pakistan has once again expressed unwavering support for the rights, dignity, and self-determination of the Palestinian people. Every year on this day, the global community stands united in advocating for justice and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
In separate messages, both President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to the Palestinian cause. They reaffirmed the country’s dedication to the inalienable right of Palestinians to self-determination and the establishment of an independent State of Palestine with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
President Zardari strongly condemned Israel’s ongoing aggression and reiterated Pakistan’s call for the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to push for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza. He also stressed the importance of ensuring unhindered humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned Israel’s genocidal actions, noting the devastating toll on Palestinian lives, with over 43,000 innocent men, women, and children reportedly killed. He expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people, acknowledging their resilience in the face of such violence, and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting their just struggle for freedom.
Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch, speaking at the second meeting of the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution in Belgium, also reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering stance on Palestine. She called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and advocated for a comprehensive resolution to the Palestinian issue, emphasizing the need for Palestine’s full membership in the United Nations and the creation of a sovereign state based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
