In a significant operation, Punjab Police in Dera Ghazi Khan successfully repelled an attack by foreign terrorists on the Lakhani border post.
According to the police spokesperson, 25 to 30 heavily armed terrorists launched a sudden nighttime assault on the border post. The attackers, equipped with rockets, hand grenades, and heavy weaponry, were identified using thermal imaging cameras.
The police, supported by elite forces, Rangers, and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), mounted an immediate and coordinated response using machine guns and mortar fire. The strong counterattack forced the terrorists to retreat, inflicting significant casualties.
The spokesperson commended the swift and effective action of the security forces, which thwarted the terrorists’ plans and ensured the safety of the border region.
