Monkeys create a stir in Karachi’s Albela Chowk, local wildlife team rescues them.

Monkeys are a rare sight in Pakistan, especially in urban areas like Karachi. So, when four monkeys were spotted hanging out in Albela Chowk, it quickly became a point of fascination for locals. Unaccustomed to such an encounter, residents of the area eagerly observed the monkeys and even attempted to capture them on their own.

However, the monkeys proved too quick and agile for the crowd. Within moments, they scaled walls and leapt onto rooftops, leaving the onlookers behind in pursuit. Faced with their elusive movements, the people had no choice but to contact a local wildlife team, who eventually managed to net the monkeys and bring them under control.

It remains unclear where the monkeys came from. There are questions surrounding whether they are public property or if they somehow escaped from a zoo. If they did indeed escape, how they managed to do so in the presence of zoo staff remains a mystery. Alternatively, if they belong to a private individual, there are concerns about whether proper permission was granted to keep such animals in an urban setting, in accordance with Karachi Wildlife regulations.

Regardless of their origins, the sight of the monkeys has captured the attention of netizens, who have been sharing videos and memes online, making the most of this unusual encounter.
