Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu attended the 12th edition of the International Defence Exhibition (IDEAS-2024) at the Karachi Expo Centre on Thursday, where he toured various exhibits showcasing the latest advancements in defense technology.
During his visit, the air chief explored several stalls within the National Aerospace Science & Technology Park pavilion, which featured cutting-edge innovations in areas such as space, cyber security, artificial intelligence, electronic warfare, aerospace design, and simulation technologies.
In his address, Air Chief Marshal Babar emphasized the importance of building a strong ecosystem that supports venture capitalism to foster innovation and growth within the aerospace sector. He stressed the need for continuous efforts to nurture emerging talent and improve the capabilities of local industries, highlighting the role of the National Incubation Center for Aerospace Technology (NICAT) in these endeavors.
Additionally, Babar engaged with foreign delegates at the event, where discussions centered on exploring opportunities for the trade of indigenously developed aerospace equipment and strengthening the country’s self-reliant defense industry.
