On Sunday, Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) held funeral prayers in absentia for Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, following nationwide protests against the rising cost of electricity and Independent Power Producers (IPPs).
Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, addressing the protests, called on the Islamic world to take a stand against Israeli aggression in Gaza and Lebanon. He reaffirmed JI’s commitment to continuing its protests against inflation and expressing solidarity with the people of Palestine and Lebanon.
Hezbollah confirmed on Saturday that its leader, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, was killed in Israeli airstrikes that destroyed multiple buildings in Beirut. Despite the loss of their leader, who had led the resistance movement for nearly three decades, the group pledged to continue its struggle against Israel.
