A trio of Dutch cricketers has made significant strides in the latest ICC Women’s Player Rankings, thanks to their outstanding performances in recent matches.
Currently, the Netherlands are competing in an ODI tri-series on home turf against Papua New Guinea and Scotland. They have made an impressive start, securing a three-wicket victory over Papua New Guinea in their opening match despite a late scare.
Robine Rijke, named Player of the Match, played a pivotal role with a stylish half-century. Coming in at a precarious 5/2 while chasing a modest total of 148, Rijke scored a crucial 60 off 75 balls to guide the Netherlands to victory. Her remarkable performance has seen her rise 35 places to 52nd in the ODI batter rankings, achieving a career-high rating.
In the bowling department, teammates Iris Zwilling and Caroline de Lange were instrumental in dismissing five Papua New Guinea batters. Zwilling has advanced eight spots to 45th, while de Lange has moved up two positions to share 80th place, thanks to her figures of 2/34.
For Papua New Guinea, Pauke Siaka’s valuable innings of 26 led to a 22-place rise in the ODI batter rankings, placing her at 83rd.
