Punjab bar council calls for strike against political detentions and police actions.

The Punjab Bar Council announced a province-wide strike for Saturday to protest political detentions and police actions. The council stated that lawyers across the province would not appear in court.

In their statement, the council demanded an end to the arrests of political workers and lawyers, citing a recent notification regarding the division of civil courts in Lahore. They urged the government to revoke this notification immediately.

Additionally, the Punjab Bar Council called for the government to withdraw the recent increase in court fees, criticizing the government for burdening the public with excessive taxes and rising electricity bills.
