Weather update: heavy rainfall forecasted across several regions.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a forecast predicting increased rain-thundershower activity accompanied by windstorms and gusty winds. The affected areas include Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, north-east/central Punjab, Potohar region, Islamabad, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and northeast Balochistan over the next 24 hours.

There is a possibility of heavy rains at isolated locations in Kashmir, northeast/central Punjab, Potohar region, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and northeast Balochistan.

The current synoptic situation indicates monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea penetrating the upper and central parts of the country. Additionally, a trough of westerly wave is affecting the upper regions.

In the preceding 24 hours, there were reports of rain, wind, and thundershowers with isolated heavy falls in Islamabad, the Pothohar region, northeast/central Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and northeast Baluchistan. Meanwhile, other parts of the country experienced hot and humid weather.

On Friday, Dadu recorded the highest temperature in the country, reaching up to 46 degrees Celsius.
