A Russian attack on Ukraine’s southern city of Odesa targeted civilian infrastructure and injured at least three people on Monday morning, according to regional governor Oleh Kiper.
Kiper reported on the Telegram messaging app that a 19-year-old boy and two middle-aged men were hospitalized following the attack.
The Ukrainian interior ministry shared images showing a massive cloud of smoke rising from the scene as emergency services worked to extinguish the fire.
Before the explosions, the air force had warned Odesa’s residents about the threat of incoming missiles.
Odesa has frequently been targeted by Russian forces throughout the 28-month-long full-scale invasion, with many attacks aimed at the city’s port facilities. Russia denies targeting civilians or civilian infrastructure.
