PCB chairman halts naming of national squad for T20 world cup.

On Friday, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi stopped the announcement of the national squad for the upcoming Twenty20 International World Cup, set to be held in the United States and the West Indies next month.

Sources indicate that the PCB chief expressed dissatisfaction with the selection committee. Initially, it was reported that he had objections to the inclusion of two players in the 15-man squad, but the specific players were not identified.

Later, it was clarified that the chairman’s displeasure was not directed at any individual players but at the overall functioning of the selection committee. The committee failed to hold regular meetings and did not share the minutes of their meetings with the chairman.

The national team is now expected to be named at 7 PM this evening. This delay comes just in time, as May 25 is the final date for submitting squad names to the International Cricket Council (ICC).
