Punjab’s Journey to Progress: Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Launches Innovative ‘Clinics on Wheels’ Initiative

During the inauguration ceremony of the ‘clinics on wheels’ project, Punjab’s Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz, reaffirmed the province’s commitment to advancement and prosperity.

In her address, the Chief Minister underscored the pivotal role of this initiative in revolutionizing the healthcare sector and enhancing public access to medical services.

She emphasized that these mobile clinics are outfitted with essential medical amenities, poised to serve communities across Punjab. With a fleet of 200 mobile units strategically stationed, the project aims to offer a spectrum of medical services, encompassing tests, screenings, vaccinations, and gynecological care.

Notably, fifty of these mobile clinics will be equipped with ultrasound facilities, catering to the healthcare needs of approximately 4.0 million individuals, particularly in underserved regions lacking adequate hospital infrastructure.

To ensure the seamless implementation of the project, priority will be given to local doctors from all 36 districts, while efforts to address the shortage of nursing and paramedical staff are also underway.

Chief Minister Nawaz highlighted the revival of this initiative, originally spearheaded by Nawaz Sharif, which had been stalled during the previous administration. She reiterated her government’s steadfast commitment to delivering healthcare services directly to the people’s doorsteps.

Furthermore, she unveiled plans to establish state-of-the-art cardiology hospitals in eight districts of Punjab, underscoring the government’s broader vision for healthcare reform.

The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of key officials, including Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafiq, Khawaja Imran Nazeer, and Secretary Health Ali Khan, marking a collaborative effort towards realizing Punjab’s healthcare goals.
