Dubai Grants Golden Visas to Long-Serving Religious Figures

In a significant move, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of the United Arab Emirates and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, has issued an order to award golden visas to imams of mosques and religious figures who have dedicated 20 years of service in Dubai.

This initiative, aimed at recognizing and honoring the unwavering commitment and significant social contributions of religious leaders, underscores the importance placed on religious harmony and community welfare in Dubai. The decision reflects the deep appreciation for the invaluable role played by imams, muezzins, muftis, and religious researchers in fostering unity, spirituality, and guidance within the society.

The Crown Prince emphasized the enduring dedication exhibited by these religious figures over the years and acknowledged their pivotal role in nurturing a cohesive and harmonious community fabric. In line with this recognition, he directed the issuance of golden visas to eligible individuals, ensuring that their long-standing service is duly acknowledged and celebrated.

Under this directive, recipients of the golden visas will not only receive long-term residency permits but will also be provided with financial assistance, underscoring the government’s commitment to supporting the welfare of religious leaders. Additionally, special considerations are being made to extend financial aid during Eid-ul-Fitr, further enhancing the recognition and support extended to these esteemed individuals.

Dubai’s Golden Visa program, which was first introduced in 2018, aimed to attract and retain top talent and expertise across various sectors, including investors, scientists, and professionals. The extension of this initiative to encompass religious figures highlights the government’s inclusive approach, acknowledging the diverse contributions made by individuals from all walks of life.

This groundbreaking decision signifies a paradigm shift in the recognition and appreciation of religious leaders, acknowledging their pivotal role in promoting social cohesion, spiritual guidance, and community welfare. By extending golden visas to long-serving imams and religious figures, Dubai reaffirms its commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment, where individuals from diverse backgrounds are valued and celebrated for their contributions to the society’s fabric.
