Pakistan Welcomes UN Security Council’s Approval of Immediate Ceasefire in Gaza

Pakistan has warmly welcomed the United Nations Security Council’s approval of a ceasefire agreement in Gaza during the holy month of Ramadan.

According to the spokesperson of the Foreign Office, there is a strong demand for the swift implementation of the Security Council’s approved agreement. It is hoped that Israel’s aggressive attacks will cease and a lasting ceasefire can be ensured.

The Foreign Office spokesperson stated that this initiative is expected to aid in addressing the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza. Pakistan has repeatedly condemned Israel’s disproportionate use of force in recent months.

According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, Pakistan will continue to support the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on pre-June 1967 borders.

It is noteworthy that a vote was held by the Security Council on Monday to seek consensus on the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, which was subsequently approved.

The ceasefire agreement was presented by ten member countries of the Security Council, including Algeria, Japan, Ecuador, Switzerland, South Korea, Malta, and others.

Out of the fifteen members of the Security Council, fourteen supported the agreement, while the United States did not participate in the voting on the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.

The approval of the ceasefire agreement by the Security Council marks a significant step towards restoring peace and stability in the region, particularly in Gaza, which has been marred by violence and conflict for an extended period.

The ceasefire agreement reflects the collective efforts of the international community to address the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza and to promote peace and security in the region.

Pakistan, along with other members of the Security Council, reaffirms its commitment to supporting efforts aimed at achieving a just and lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The approval of the ceasefire agreement underscores the importance of multilateral diplomacy in resolving conflicts and advancing the cause of peace and security globally.

Pakistan welcomes the approval of the ceasefire agreement by the United Nations Security Council and urges all parties to adhere to the terms of the agreement in order to prevent further loss of life and alleviate the suffering of the people of Gaza.
