Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and advisor to the Chief Minister on Information in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Barrister Saif, issued a response to the statement made by Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar, stating that PTI did not launch any social media campaign regarding the disrespect of martyrs.
Barrister Saif expressed concern that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was politicizing the sacrifices of martyrs, accusing them of using their names for political gain. He emphasized that PTI is a patriotic party.
He mentioned that in the fight against terrorism, security forces have made immense sacrifices. Furthermore, he highlighted that PTI has always acknowledged the sacrifices of the youth who protect the borders.
On the other hand, another leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Asad Qaiser, also criticized the statements made by Khawaja Asif and Atta Tarar, labeling them as propaganda. He stated that PTI has always recognized the sacrifices of the youth guarding the borders.
He asserted that those who use the martyrdom of the youth for their political agendas are not well-wishers of the nation. He emphasized that each and every young person entrusted with the responsibility of protecting the country fills the nation with pride.
Meanwhile, addressing a press conference in Lahore, Atta Tarar had mentioned that a condemnable incident of terrorism occurred in North Waziristan where soldiers and officers of the Pakistan Army were martyred. However, he expressed concern over a certain political party launching a disrespectful social media campaign against the martyrs.
Furthermore, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif had stated that currently, the most terrorism is occurring in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He asserted that those who make statements against the martyrs have some connection with terrorists.
The response from PTI leaders Saifullah and Asad Qaiser reflects their condemnation of the politicization of martyrs’ sacrifices by rival political parties. They emphasized PTI’s recognition of the sacrifices made by security forces and called out those who exploit these sacrifices for political gain.
