The Election Commission has finalized the appointment of returning officers for the Senate elections by issuing a notification.
For the Islamabad seats, DG Training Saeed Gul has been appointed as the returning officer, while for the Punjab Assembly, Punjab Election Commissioner Ejaz Anwar Chohan has been appointed. Similarly, for the Sindh Assembly, Sindh Election Commissioner Sharifullah has been appointed as the returning officer.
In addition, for the Balochistan Assembly, Balochistan Election Commissioner Mohammad Farid Afridi and for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Election Commissioner Shamsad Khan have been appointed as returning officers.
According to the Election Commission, on March 11, when the term completes, 52 senators will retire. It is noteworthy that the Senate elections will take place in the first week of April.
