Content Policy

Read.pk publishes news, explainers, and public-interest updates. This page sets out how our content is produced, what we mean by sourcing, and what readers should expect when a story is based on public reports or social media.

What we publish

Our articles generally fall into two buckets:

1) Original writing

Some content is written by our contributors and editors as original articles, explainers, or commentary. This can include analysis and background context written in-house.

2) Compiled coverage

A significant portion of our coverage is compiled from information already in the public domain, such as:

  • reporting by other media outlets
  • official statements and public notices
  • public social media posts (including verified accounts when available)

In these cases, Read.pk is not claiming to be the first publisher of the underlying information. Our role is to summarise, organise, and present what is publicly available.

Sources and attribution

We try to make sourcing clear to readers. In practice, that means:

  • Naming the source inside the article when information comes from another outlet or a public statement
  • Linking to the source when it is possible and stable (for example, an official website, press release, or a public post)
  • Quoting carefully, without altering meaning or removing context in a misleading way

Sometimes a source cannot be linked reliably. Social posts are deleted. Accounts go private. Pages move. When that happens, we may still report what was publicly visible at the time, but readers should understand the limitation.

Social media-based stories

Read.pk may cover stories that originate from trending clips, screenshots, rumours, or public posts. Social media can be useful, but it also produces misinformation at speed.

When a story depends on social media material, we aim to:

  • describe it as a claim or circulating report when that is what it is
  • note any official clarification or denial that becomes available
  • update the article if stronger evidence emerges

Not every viral claim can be independently verified immediately. Where verification is incomplete, we try to avoid definitive language.

Accuracy, updates, and corrections

News develops. Details change. Mistakes happen.

  • If we find a clear factual error, we correct it as soon as we can.
  • If a story changes materially, we may update the article rather than publish a new one.
  • If wording could reasonably mislead readers, we may add a clarification.

In some situations, content may be removed (for example, where it is demonstrably false and cannot be corrected responsibly, or where legal or safety issues apply). When appropriate, we will note meaningful changes in the article.

Ownership and reuse

Unless stated otherwise, the written text on Read.pk is produced for publication on this site.

At the same time:

  • The underlying facts in a compiled story may originate from third parties.
  • Embedded media, screenshots, quoted statements, and referenced reporting may remain the property of the original rights holders.

If you believe content on Read.pk infringes your rights, please contact us with the page URL and supporting details so we can review.

Plagiarism and content integrity

We do not aim to copy and republish entire articles from other publishers. Where we rely on another source, we try to credit it and write our own summary in our own structure.

Sponsored content and advertising

If we publish sponsored content, promotions, or advertorial material, it should be labelled so readers can distinguish it from editorial coverage.

Conflicts of interest

We expect contributors to avoid covering issues where they have a direct conflict of interest. Where this is not practical, we expect disclosure.

How to report an issue

If you believe an article is inaccurate, misleading, missing attribution, or uses material you own, send us:

  • the URL
  • the specific claim or material you are disputing
  • any evidence or the correct source link
