As winter tightens its grip across the nation, Pakistan is experiencing a surge in cold weather, particularly in the northern regions, where temperatures have plummeted significantly. The Meteorological Department reports that severe cold has enveloped the northern areas of the country, extending its icy influence into the northern regions of Balochistan as well.

Over the past 24 hours, Skardu recorded the lowest temperature, hitting a bone-chilling minus 9 degrees Celsius. Additionally, Gilgit, Astor, Hunza, and Sari Nanga displayed sub-zero temperatures, ranging from minus 3 degrees to minus 1 degree. Quetta and Kalat reported freezing temperatures at zero degrees Celsius, while Islamabad experienced a chilly 3 degrees.

The frigid weather conditions have impacted various cities across the country, with Rawalpindi, Multan, Sargodha, Peshawar at 4 degrees, and Lahore, Faisalabad, Jhelum, Sukkur at 5 degrees Celsius. The metropolis of Karachi, while relatively milder, recorded a minimum temperature of 13 degrees Celsius, signaling the influence of the winter season.
