Siraj ul Haq, the Ameer (leader) of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, has raised a critical inquiry into the prevailing dynastic politics in Pakistan, questioning whether only two families remain for power in the country. He addressed this concern during a Women Workers Convention in Bahawalpur, emphasizing that eleven crore people are living beneath the shadow of poverty, holding Asif Ali Zardari and Nawaz Sharif responsible.
Haq asserted that Jamaat-e-Islami seeks the implementation of an Islamic system exclusively and nothing else in Pakistan. He questioned whether these two families are the only contenders left for political power in the country.
Expressing disappointment, the leader of Jamaat-e-Islami stated that neither Asif Ali Zardari nor Nawaz Sharif has done anything for the release of Aafia Siddiqui. He specifically highlighted that neither the founder and chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, has taken any substantial steps for Aafia’s release.
Siraj ul Haq made it clear that if Jamaat-e-Islami comes into power, immediate measures will be taken for the release of Aafia Siddiqui. He juxtaposed this commitment with what he perceived as inaction by other political leaders.
He further stated that neither Israel, nor the United States, nor France can bring victory to the Palestinians. Siraj ul Haq’s assertion underscores his perspective on the geopolitical dynamics involving Israel, the United States, and France in the context of the Palestinian struggle.
Siraj ul Haq’s questioning of dynastic politics and his emphasis on an Islamic system reflect his party’s stance and commitment to addressing what they see as critical issues facing Pakistan. As the political landscape evolves, the scrutiny of dynastic politics and the promotion of an Islamic system continue to be central themes in Jamaat-e-Islami’s narrative.
