Tragic loss of soldiers in South Waziristan IED blast and successful IBO in Khyber district.

In a recent series of events, two soldiers of the Pakistan Army lost their lives due to an improvised explosive device (IED) explosion in South Waziristan. In a separate operation, a terrorist was neutralized in an Intelligence-Based Operation (IBO) in the Khyber District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

As per an official statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the IBO conducted in the Tirah area of Khyber District resulted in the successful elimination of one terrorist, with two others sustaining injuries. Security forces apprehended the injured terrorists and recovered weapons and ammunition from them. These individuals had been actively involved in acts of terrorism against security forces and the senseless targeting of innocent civilians in the region.

Tragically, in another incident, an IED exploded in the Sarwekai area of South Waziristan District, leading to the martyrdom of two courageous soldiers: Sepoy Banaras Khan (23 years old, resident of District Orakzai) and Sepoy Abdul Karim (23 years old, resident of District Khyber).

Efforts are underway to sanitize the area and eliminate any remaining terrorists. The ISPR reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of Pakistan’s security forces to combat terrorism, with the sacrifices of these brave soldiers serving as a poignant reminder of their determination.
