Average Umrah duration reaches 116 minutes in Jumada Al-Awwal: authority report.

The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has revealed that the average duration for performing Umrah during the month of Jumada Al-Awwal 1447 AH was 116 minutes.

According to a recent survey conducted by the authority, 92% of pilgrims completed Tawaf in the Mataf area of the Grand Mosque. The report further noted that the average time for Tawaf was 42 minutes, while Sa’i between Safa and Marwah took around 46 minutes.

Additionally, pilgrims spent approximately 15 minutes moving from the mosque’s courtyards to the Mataf area and about 13 minutes traveling from the Mataf to the Al-Mas’a area.

The authority stated that the Tawaf duration in the Mataf area is shorter compared to other sections, attributing the improvement to effective administrative measures that have enhanced crowd management and the flow of worshippers.

It reaffirmed its commitment to facilitating pilgrims’ movement within the Grand Mosque and its facilities, ensuring that rituals are performed with comfort, ease, and tranquility.

The report also highlighted that reserving the Mataf area exclusively for Umrah pilgrims and designating upper floors for Tawaf-only visitors have played a major role in reducing congestion and improving the overall experience for worshippers.
