A drug court on Thursday directed authorities to block the national identity card (CNIC) of Hakeem Shehzad, husband of popular TikToker Dania Shah, after he failed to appear in court.
The case pertains to allegations of illegal advertisements and the sale of unlicensed medicines. Along with blocking Shehzad’s CNIC, the court reissued his arrest warrants.
In a related development, the court took serious notice of fraudulent surety bonds submitted by Shehzad’s son, Naseeb Ur Rehman, who is also a co-accused. The court ordered the registration of an FIR against the surety and sought a report from the authorities.
The case, filed by a drug inspector, accuses Hakeem Shehzad and his son of unlawfully promoting and selling unlicensed medicines. The hearing has now been adjourned until October 13.
Earlier this week, in a separate case, the Sindh High Court issued a bailable arrest warrant for a NADRA Assistant Director over the non-issuance of a CNIC to a Karachi resident, underscoring broader concerns about identity documentation in the country.
