New policy for registered Hajj pilgrims announced.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has introduced a new facilitation policy for registered Hajj pilgrims who may face illness or death after registration.

According to the policy, if a registered pilgrim passes away, a close relative may be nominated to perform Hajj in their place, ensuring that the sacred opportunity does not go unused and the family’s spiritual wish is fulfilled.

Additionally, registered pilgrims who are unable to travel due to unavoidable circumstances may nominate someone else as their substitute. In cases where neither option is suitable, the pilgrim has the right to withdraw the deposited amount by presenting a valid reason along with supporting evidence.

The Ministry further clarified that documentary proof of death or illness must be provided in such cases. Moreover, any pilgrim opting out of the journey for personal or health-related reasons must submit a stamp paper stating the reason for their withdrawal.
