MoITT, Sindh IT company partner to launch digital economy enhancement project.

The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sindh IT Company (SITC) to roll out the Digital Economy Enhancement Project (DEEP) in Sindh, marking a significant step towards building a unified national digital ecosystem.

The MoU was signed by the Additional Secretary MoITT and the CEO of SITC, in the presence of Federal IT & Telecom Minister Shaza Fatima.

Under the agreement, MoITT will act as the sponsoring agency, providing funding, technical expertise, and policy guidance, while also monitoring nationwide implementation. Key initiatives under DEEP include:

National Digital Services Portal

Pakistan Digital ID

Digital Vaults

Pakistan Business Portal

National Data Exchange Layer

Minister Shaza Fatima said the launch of DEEP in Sindh reflects the government’s vision of a connected, inclusive, and technology-driven Pakistan, guided by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s “Digital Nation” agenda. She also thanked the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) for its support.

Sindh IT Company will oversee the provincial rollout, coordinating with local government entities for data integration, infrastructure development, and capacity building. The collaboration will accelerate digital governance in Sindh, improving transparency, efficiency, and service delivery.

The initiative is expected to create new opportunities for innovation and economic growth, while enabling citizen-centric digital services. By aligning federal and provincial efforts, DEEP aims to deliver long-term socio-economic benefits and drive Pakistan’s transition towards a stronger digital economy.
