Two new polio cases confirmed in KP and sindh, national tally rises to 21.

The National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) has confirmed two fresh polio cases — one from Lower Kohistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and another from Badin, Sindh.

Health officials reported that the virus was detected in a 6-year-old girl in Pattan, Lower Kohistan, taking KP’s tally to 13 cases so far this year. Among these, three each have been reported from Bannu and Lakki Marwat, two each from Tank and North Waziristan, and one each from DI Khan, Torghar, and Lower Kohistan.

The case from Badin marks Sindh’s latest addition, pushing Pakistan’s overall polio count in 2025 to 21 cases.

NEOC reiterated that polio has no cure and can only be prevented through vaccination. A nationwide anti-polio campaign is scheduled to begin on September 1. Parents are strongly urged to ensure their children receive polio drops and complete routine immunizations on time to protect them from lifelong disability.
