US rebukes India’s denial of American role in Pakistan-India ceasefire as false and misleading.

The United States has strongly rejected India’s assertion that there was no American involvement in brokering the ceasefire between Pakistan and India, calling the claim “false and misleading.”

During a press briefing on Tuesday, US State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce stated, “Most comments speak for themselves. In today’s modern age, you don’t rely on just one narrative to uncover the truth. Some opinions are simply incorrect. President Trump has made the facts clearer.”

Bruce emphasized that dismissing the US role is merely “an opinion,” and reaffirmed that the United States did play a part in facilitating the ceasefire. She also confirmed that US Vice President JD Vance was actively involved in the negotiations and deserves recognition for his efforts.

“President Trump is committed to clarifying the truth and facilitating peaceful resolutions. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Vice President Vance were both directly involved in discussions with Pakistan and India,” she added.

President Trump has consistently maintained that he contributed to ending the four-day conflict between India and Pakistan in May. However, the Indian government has persistently denied any American mediation in the ceasefire process.

Earlier on Tuesday, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, during an open cabinet meeting, stated, “We prevented and ended a war between India and Pakistan.”

Despite these assertions, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar have repeatedly dismissed any claims of US involvement in the ceasefire agreement.
