Punjab records 99 additional dengue cases amid unabated spread of fever.

The incidence of dengue fever is surging in Lahore, with an additional 99 cases reported in Punjab within the last 24 hours, of which 59 were identified in Lahore alone. This year, the total number of dengue cases reported in Punjab has risen to 1,883.

Furthermore, Rawalpindi has reported 18 new cases of the disease, while Multan has reported seven.

According to the Punjab Health Department, there are currently 82 dengue fever patients receiving treatment across various hospitals in the province.

In the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, an additional 40 cases of dengue fever have emerged in the last 24 hours. Rawalpindi has seen 25 new cases during this period, bringing the total number of cases in the city this season to 368, with nine of these cases categorized as critical. Currently, 63 patients are undergoing treatment in various hospitals in Rawalpindi.

In the federal capital, Islamabad, 15 more dengue cases were reported in the last 24 hours, with four cases in urban areas and 11 in rural areas. This year, the total number of dengue cases in Islamabad has reached 234.

Meanwhile, in Karachi, the provincial health department has reported 11 new cases of dengue fever in the last 24 hours. Thus far, Karachi has reported a total of 864 dengue cases this year.
