Another Malaysian airline has announced its entry into the Pakistani aviation market, as AirAsia prepares to commence flight operations to Karachi, Dunya News reported on Thursday.
The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has granted AirAsia permission to operate flights between Karachi and Kuala Lumpur, with the first flight scheduled for May 30. Initially, the airline will offer four weekly flights on this route.
This move marks a significant expansion of AirAsia’s international network and is expected to create new job opportunities in Pakistan. The airline currently operates on 22 routes worldwide and will be Malaysia’s only low-cost carrier offering direct flights to Karachi.
Aviation experts believe the new route will improve affordable connectivity between Pakistan and Malaysia, benefiting both Malaysian travelers and the Pakistani diaspora residing in Malaysia by providing cost-effective travel options.
