PTI rejects further negotiations, demands judicial commission.

Following Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar’s refusal to continue negotiations with the government until the formation of a judicial commission to investigate the events of May 9 and November 26, National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq summoned a new meeting of the dialogue committee for January 28.

Senator Irfan Siddiqui, spokesperson for the government’s dialogue committee, confirmed that the PTI had been invited to participate in the upcoming meeting. However, the PTI declined the invitation and did not provide any written response.

Opposition Leader Omar Ayub criticized the government, claiming it lacked the authority to offer meaningful solutions in the talks. Barrister Gohar echoed this sentiment, stating that PTI founder Imran Khan had instructed the party to withdraw entirely from the ongoing negotiations.

Imran Khan had previously announced the PTI’s decision to end discussions with the government unless the judicial commission, a key demand of the party, was established.
