The controversy arose after Bukhari shared photos on social media showcasing an unconventional hijab style, which some critics claimed did not align with traditional interpretations.
In an Instagram story, Bukhari firmly responded to her detractors, stating, “Whether I wear a hijab, turban, or cover my head with a dupatta, it is entirely my decision.” She emphasized that her choice to cover her head stems from personal conviction and does not require validation from others.
Bukhari also expressed disappointment over unsolicited comments, reminding critics that judging someone’s personal decisions is unwarranted. Her stance highlights the importance of respecting individual autonomy and personal expression.
