Kannada actress Shobitha Shivanna was found dead in her apartment in Hyderabad’s Kondapur area, police confirmed on Monday. Authorities suspect the 32-year-old actress died by suicide, though the circumstances remain under investigation.
According to the Gachibowli police, Shivanna was discovered hanging in her residence. “A case has been registered, and an investigation is ongoing to determine the exact cause and circumstances of her death,” a police official stated. Her body has been sent to Gandhi Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Shobitha Shivanna was a rising star in the Kannada entertainment industry, known for her work in films such as Eradondla Mooru, ATM: Attempt to Murder, and Vandana. She also had roles in major projects like U-Turn and the K.G.F franchise. On television, she gained popularity through serials like Gaalipata, Mangala Gowri, and Brahmagantu.
The news of her sudden demise has left the entertainment industry and fans in shock. Actress Geeta Bharti Bhatt shared her grief on Instagram, writing, “RIP Shobitha avre. You shouldn’t have left us this way. Your smile, love for life, and presence will be deeply missed.”
Born and raised in Bengaluru, Shobitha showed a passion for acting from an early age. She attended Baldwin Girls High School and graduated from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Bengaluru.
