Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar is set to travel to Iran tomorrow to attend the 28th meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).

During his address at the meeting, Dar is expected to reaffirm Pakistan’s commitment to the ECO charter, emphasizing the importance of enhancing regional connectivity. He will highlight the potential benefits of developing integrated rail and road networks, liberalizing visa regimes, and simplifying border procedures as key drivers of economic growth and regional cooperation.

In addition, Dar will voice Pakistan’s concerns over the ongoing hostilities in the Middle East, stressing the negative impact they are having on regional peace and security. He is also scheduled to sign the Charter for the ECO Clean Energy Center, a significant step towards promoting sustainable energy initiatives within the organization.
