At just 22 years old, mountaineer Shehroze Kashif has made history by becoming the youngest Pakistani to summit all 14 of the world’s peaks towering over 8,000 meters. Known as the “Broad Boy,” Shehroze achieved this remarkable feat by reaching the 8,027-meter summit of Shishapangma.
This accomplishment also makes him the second Pakistani to conquer all 14 of these peaks, following Sirbaz Khan, who reached the same milestone last week by summiting Shishapangma, becoming the first Pakistani to do so.
Shehroze’s journey to this incredible achievement began in 2019 when, at just 17, he climbed the 8,047-meter Broad Peak, earning him international recognition. In 2021, he summited Mount Everest, Manaslu, and K2. His streak of success continued in 2022 with climbs of Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Makalu, Nanga Parbat, Gasherbrum I, and Gasherbrum II.
In 2023, he showcased his skills by conquering Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Cho Oyu. Notably, Shehroze had attempted Shishapangma last year but was forced to abandon the climb due to an accident.
Reflecting on his monumental achievement, Shehroze expressed his joy: “I knew this was going to be extremely tough, and the risk of losing my life was real, but I stayed focused on my goal. Now, standing here, I realize this success isn’t just about climbing mountains—it’s about conquering fear, doubt, and limitations. For me, this is nothing short of a miracle.”
