Afghanistan’s T20 International cricket team captain, Rashid Khan, recently tied the knot in a grand ceremony at a local hotel. The event, which also saw his three brothers—Raza Khan, Zakiullah, and Amir Khalil—getting married, captured widespread attention as videos from the celebration went viral.
The four brothers made a striking appearance, all dressed in matching black kurta outfits paired with sleeveless red coats. The ceremony was attended by Afghan cricket team players, who extended their congratulations and best wishes to Khan on this significant milestone.
Afghan cricketer Muhammad Nabi shared a selfie with the groom on X (formerly Twitter), expressing his joy with the message: “Congratulations to the one and only King Khan, Rashid Khan, on your wedding! Wishing you a lifetime of love, happiness, and success ahead.” Many others also shared their excitement by posting photos from the event.
The wedding beautifully followed traditional Pashtun customs, reflecting the rich Afghan culture.
Rashid Khan, a cricket sensation in Afghanistan, has made a mark in the international arena. Known for his “leg break googly” bowling style, he is currently ranked third by the ICC among men’s T20I bowlers. Starting his international career at just 17, he has since claimed 376 wickets. As captain of Afghanistan’s T20I team, Khan remains one of the most celebrated cricketers in the world.
