Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Spokesperson Bakhtiar Muhammad has advised citizens to avoid last-minute tax filings and submit their income tax returns well ahead of the September 30 deadline, emphasizing that no deadline extensions will be granted. Speaking to a private news channel, he stressed the importance of timely tax submissions to support Pakistan’s economy and promote a culture of tax compliance essential for economic stability and growth.

Bakhtiar also highlighted FBR’s commitment to modernizing the tax system through advanced techniques like data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) to curb tax evasion. He assured that the FBR is enhancing its infrastructure, audit processes, and providing support by simplifying tax laws and procedures.

The Iris portal, a user-friendly tax filing system, is part of these improvements. Additionally, FBR is focused on building a skilled, motivated workforce through training programs, fostering professionalism, and encouraging employee satisfaction.
