Taylor swift leads MTV VMA nominations with 10, followed by post malone and others.

Taylor Swift dominates the MTV Video Music Award nominations for 2024, receiving a total of 10 nods. Her music video for “Fortnight” leads with eight nominations, and she also secures spots in the artist of the year and best pop categories. Post Malone, who collaborated with Swift on “Fortnight,” is close behind with eight nominations, plus an additional nod for his country hit “I Had Some Help” featuring Morgan Wallen.

The artist of the year category also includes Ariana Grande, Bad Bunny, Eminem, Sabrina Carpenter, and SZA.

Swift, who won nine VMAs last year, now has 23 awards, positioning her just behind Beyoncé (28 awards) and ahead of Madonna (20 awards) and Lady Gaga (19 awards).

The 2024 MTV VMAs will be broadcast live on September 10 at 8 p.m. Eastern. Other notable nominees include Grande, Carpenter, and Eminem with six each; Megan Thee Stallion and SZA with five each; and Blackpink’s LISA, Olivia Rodrigo, and Teddy Swims with four nominations each.

This year features 29 first-time nominees, including Wallen, Carpenter, and Swims, as well as Benson Boone and Tyla, each with three nominations.

New nominees for 2024 also include Chappell Roan, Coco Jones, Gracie Abrams, Jelly Roll, Jessie Murph, LE SSERAFIM, Rauw Alejandro, RAYE, Sexyy Red, Shaboozey, Tyler Childers, and Victoria Monet, among others.

The VMAs will be held at the UBS Arena on Long Island, New York. Fan voting begins online Tuesday for 15 gender-neutral categories and ends on August 30, with voting for the best new artist category continuing throughout the show.
