Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Advisor Barrister Saif accused the government of attempting to create discord among institutions through recent amendments to the Election Act. Saif argued that these changes are a blatant violation of the Supreme Court’s verdict concerning reserved seats, and labeled the actions of those responsible as “mandate thieves” and a contempt of court.
He urged the Supreme Court to take suo motu notice of the situation, criticizing the Sharif family for allegedly reducing Pakistan to a “banana republic” and warning of severe consequences for their governance. Saif expressed confidence that only Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan could navigate the country out of its current difficulties, asserting that the government should have respected the court’s decision to allocate reserved seats to PTI.
