Iga swiatek dominates diane parry to advance in paris games eyes olympic gold.

On Monday, Poland’s Iga Swiatek delivered a commanding performance to defeat France’s Diane Parry 6-1, 6-1 and advance to the third round at the Paris Games, maintaining her strong bid for an Olympic gold medal.

The world number one, who recently secured her fourth French Open title on the same court, showed no signs of letting up despite the enthusiastic support for Parry from the home crowd. Swiatek quickly took control, wrapping up the first set in just 38 minutes.

The 23-year-old Polish player, widely favored to win the Olympic title, broke Parry’s serve early in the second set, establishing a 2-0 lead and never looking back. With Parry struggling with errors, Swiatek efficiently closed out the match, securing victory when Parry sent a forehand wide.

Swiatek is set to face China’s Wang Xiyu in the third round.
