Almost a month after highlighting the need for a “major surgery” to address the issues plaguing the cricket team, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is actively conducting meetings to develop a comprehensive plan.
Naqvi has met with head coach Gary Kirsten and Azhar Mahmood in Lahore, with another round of meetings expected to take place today (Tuesday).
The PCB chief has also engaged with several former players, discussing a range of suggestions to rectify the team’s problems. Former cricketers Intikhab Alam, Iqbal Qasim, Haroon Rasheed, Salim Altaf, Sikandar Bakht, Sarfraz Ahmed, Shafqat Rana, Rashid Khan, and Wajahatullah Wasti criticized the selection of the national squad and emphasized the need to promote U-19 and domestic cricket.
Earlier, Gary Kirsten and Wahab Riaz submitted reports to the PCB chief following Pakistan’s disappointing performance in the T20 World Cup.
