Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday to discuss the country’s overall political climate, with a particular focus on issues affecting the province.
During the meeting, Governor Kundi commended the Prime Minister for his government’s pro-business and investment policies, which he believes will boost investment in Pakistan.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Governor Kundi mentioned that they addressed the challenges of electricity and gas loadshedding in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He also recommended allocating funds for the Chashma Right Bank Canal project, emphasizing that sustainable solutions require more than just temporary fixes.
Governor Kundi advised the KP Chief Minister that negotiations, rather than confrontations, are essential for progress. “Nothing can be gained by fighting; problems can be solved only if we work together,” he stated. He noted that Chief Minister Gandapur took this advice seriously and subsequently met with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
The governor urged the Chief Minister to prioritize law and order in the province. He also expressed his willingness to collaborate with leaders from any political party, highlighting the constitutional nature of the governor’s role.
Addressing rumors about the potential imposition of Governor’s Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kundi dismissed such claims and assured that there would be no obstacles to the province’s development.
